Cowley State Fishing Lake Fishing Report -
Species | Rating | Size | Baits, Method & Location |
---|---|---|---|
Bluegill | Fair | up to 8 inch | Small jigs or live bait under a float fished near brushpiles and rocky shorelines during the warmer parts of the day. |
Channel Catfish | Fair | up to 20 inch | 15-inch minimum length limit 5/day creel limit There hasn't been much channel catfish activity recently. Activity will improve as water temperatures increase. Fresh cut bait or shad sides fished in shallow water during warmer days would be a good tactic. Shorelines with the wind pushing in would be best. |
Largemouth Bass | Fair | up to 16 inch | Larger jigs or slash baits fished near rock and woody cover. South facing shorelines warm more quickly attracting bass. |
Redear Sunfish | Fair | Same as bluegill | |
