Bison For Sale:

The Kansas Dept of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism is currently soliciting sealed bids for the purchase of 1 adult bison bull from the Sandsage Bison Range and Wildlife Area herd located near Garden City, KS. The bull is 6.5 years old originating from the Maxwell Wildlife Refuge herd. The bull will not be tested (i.e. TB, brucellosis, etc) unless arrangements are made with the area manager prior to November 13, 2020.

Bids shall be submitted to: Kansas Dept of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism, 512 SE 25th, Pratt, KS 67124, Attention: Purchasing using the enclosed bid sheet. Format of the bids shall be in dollars per pound live weigh. Completed bid sheets must be received no later than noon Friday November 6, 2020 to be considered. The successful bidder shall be notified within seven days, at which time arrangements to pick up the animal shall be made with the area manager. The purchaser is responsible for transporting the animal off the Bison Range. Pick up of the animal will be scheduled for the period November 16th thru Dec 3rd, 2020. Terms: Cash or personal check (accepted if accompanied by notarized authorization letter from issuing bank). Payment is due at the time of pick up once the animal has been weighed.

Instructions: The bull will be awarded to the bidder with the highest bid. Bids are on a $/lb live wt. on the day of pickup. Bid sheets must be received in the Purchasing Office of the Kansas Dept of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism; 512 SE 25th Avenue; Pratt, KS 67124 no later than noon Friday Nov. 6, 2020. FAX 620-672-6020.
