Fall Hunting Forecast:
Dove; limited opportunities exist for dove hunting. Some may be taken by walking stubble fields or hunting near the trees in the creek drainage.
Upland birds; expectations are for average bird populations.
Turkey; Limited opportunities exist to harvest a turkey in the fall prior to the upland opener which generally pushes turkeys off the area.
Deer; White-tailed and occasionally mule deer are present on the area.
Spring Hunting Forecast:
Turkey; Limited opportunities exist to harvest a turkey in the spring. However, success is directly proportional to the amount of hunting pressure. As hunting pressure increases, turkeys are pushed off the area and success decreases.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks has completed the user survey on Francis Wachs Wildlife Area. Survey cards are NOT required to hunt Francis Wachs Wildlife Area.
