JUNE FREE PARK ENTRANCE DAYS
June offers free entrance events; Crawford State Park to host Civilian Conservation Corps reunion
PRATT -- Each year, Kansas State Parks conduct free park entrance days during which visitors may enter parks free. (Camping permits are still required.) In the past, these days have been the same at each park. In 2005, however, park policy changed so that each park could conduct free park entrance days tailored to the park's facilities, seasonal events, and patron usage, as well as to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the state park system.
The following is a list of Kansas State Park Free Park Entrance Days and associated events in June:
- June 4-5 -- Crawford State Park (SP) (620-362-3671): Civilian Conservation Corps reunion, kids events, history of Kansas state parks;
- June 4-5 -- Scott SP (620-872-2061): free entrance;
- June 12 -- Hillsdale SP (913-783-4507): 13th Annual Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Bass Tournament; and
- June 18-19 -- Wilson SP (785-658-2465): cabin dedications, birding in the park, adult eco-meet, kids activities, nature trail tours.
