Overland Park event to focus on practical ways to protect wetlands
On Sept. 20-22, the Kansas Alliance for Wetlands and Streams (KAWS) will hold its annual conference, entitled “CPR for Wetlands and Streams III: More Practical Tools and Strategies To Create, Protect, and Restore Kansas Wetlands, Streams, and Riparian Areas.” The conference will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Overland Park and is open to both professionals and the general public who are interested in protecting Kansas wetlands.
The event will include nationally-known speakers, experts in the region, and other experts on wetlands, streams, and riparian areas. A tradeshow, exhibitors, banquets, and live auction will also be included. Conference details may be found online. Saturday sessions may be accredited for continuing education hours.
Hotel reservations must be made by phoning 866-837-4214 by Sept. 5. Those who notify the hotel that they are with the Kansas Alliance for Wetlands and Streams Conference will get a $96 conference rate.
