PRAIRIE LONG RIFLES FALL RENDEZVOUS AT KANOPOLIS OCT. 24-26

Traditional equipment will feature rifles, pistols, knives, and tomahawks
MARQUETTE -- On Oct. 24-26, Prairie Long Rifles, Inc., will conduct its 29th Anniversary Fall Shoot at Kanopolis State Park. Men, women, and youth will compete in rifle and pistol shooting competition, as well as knife and tomahawk throwing.

All shooting events will be with traditional equipment, using round balls and open sights only under National Muzzleloading Rifle Association (NMLRA) rules. Shooting will begin at 8 a.m., Oct. 25, and run through 4 p.m. The shooting fee is $15 for a single and $25 for a family.

Prizes will be awarded at noon on Sunday. Sunday will also feature a Rifle Builders Shoot, a Mountain Team Skills Shoot, and an Archery Shoot.

Rendezvous traders are also welcome for a $15 fee or a donation prize of equal value. All participants will be required to pay the daily park vehicle entrance fee of $3.70. For more information, phone 785-667-4612 or go online to members.cox.net/plrinc.
