SCOTT STATE PARK TO HOST SOUTHWEST KANSAS YOUTH PROGRAM

Participants may win one of two shotguns or one of 24 guided hunts
SCOTT CITY — The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) will host the annual Southwest Youth Program at Scott State Park on Aug. 7 from 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year's special guests are Casey and Chris Keefer of the Sportsman's Channel's "Back Country Quest."

Individuals attending the program will have the opportunity to draw one of 24 mentored hunts, and two shotguns will be given away. To be eligible, youth must be 10 through 16 years old.

Drawing for fall hunts include duck, geese, turkey, and deer. Activities during the day include predator calling, shotgun shooting, archery, live snakes presentations, and waterfowl identification.

Sponsors will provide a free lunch for everyone who attends the program, as well as hats, shirts, and predator calls. Sponsors include Backcountry Quest, Patternmaster, Extreme Fowl, Oasis Hunting, Sportsman's Channel, Ringneck Renegade Pheasants Forever, Pheasant Forever of Scott County, and Fat Boys Barbecue.
