Wildlife, Parks and Tourism Commission To Hold Public Meeting in Topeka
PRATT – The Kansas Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KWPT) Commission invites the public to attend their next public meeting on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Topeka. The meeting will be held at the Kansas Historical Society History Center, 6425 SW 6th Ave., Topeka. The afternoon session will begin at 1 p.m. and recess at 5 p.m., then the Commission will convene at 6:30 p.m. for the evening session. The public is invited to attend both sessions and time will be set aside at the beginning of each for public comment on non-agenda items.
The afternoon session will begin with a report on the agency and state fiscal status and an update on the 2018 Kansas legislative session, followed by the General Discussion portion of the meeting to include an update on the iSportsman program. The Workshop Session will follow and include discussions on webless migratory birds, waterfowl regulations, deer seasons on Fort Riley, public lands regulations, and antelope and elk regulations.
The evening session will convene at 6:30 p.m. for a Public Hearing. The Commission will vote on the 2018-2019 deer seasons and hear Secretary’s Orders on deer permit numbers.
If necessary, the Commission will reconvene at the Kansas Historical Society History Center at 9 a.m., March 23, 2018, to complete any unfinished business.
