Ad Astra Youth Archery Tournament April 21
TOPEKA – Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach will host the eighth annual Ad Astra Archery Tournament on April 21, 2018. Competitors who register by Friday, April 6, 2018 will receive a T-shirt, included with the $16 registration fee. The event will be conducted at MacLennan Park in Topeka, located on the north side of SW 6th Ave. just west of Cedar Crest.
The competition is open to all youth in grades kindergarten through 12 who have received some archery training through the Kansas Archery in the Schools or other church or school program. Shooting will begin at 10 a.m.
The event is open to the public to observe and enjoy at no charge, and there will be a “Learn-to-Shoot” area where beginning archers can learn basic shooting skills from instructors.
Archers will compete in four divisions: kindergarten through third grade, fourth grade through sixth grade, seventh and eighth grade, and ninth grade through twelfth grade. Plaques will be awarded to the three highest scoring competitors in each division.
