Register Now For Youth Dove Hunt at Clinton Wildlife Area
PRATT – The Jayhawk Chapter of the Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation (QUWF), in collaboration with the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT), invite youth age 15 and younger to register for a dove hunt at the Clinton Wildlife Area. The Sept. 1, 2018 opening-day hunt will begin at sunrise. Parents are welcomed as mentors, but mentors will be available as needed.
One of the specially managed dove fields on Clinton Wildlife Area will be reserved for the youth hunt, so hunters can expect high-quality opportunities. Non-toxic shells, and eye and ear protection will be provided to participants, who are encouraged to dress in camouflage or dark-colored clothing. Shotguns may be provided upon request.
For more details and to register, contact Dr. John Hill at (785) 550-5657.
The 2018 hunting season for migratory doves (mourning and white-winged) is Sept. 1-Nov. 29. For information regarding migratory bird hunting regulations, license and stamp requirements, legal methods of take, non-toxic shot and more, visit ksoutdoors.com and click “Hunting,” “Hunting Regulations,” then “Migratory Birds.”
