Kansas Eco-meets
To challenge and inspire an interest, appreciation and understanding of the natural sciences and the Kansas environment through interscholastic competition.
Eco-meet is an interscholastic competition for students interested in wildlife biology in Kansas. Teams are tested over their general knowledge of a Kansas ecosystem (tall grass prairie this year) and knowledge of a specific group of wildlife (amphibians and reptiles this year). Teams then compete in a scavenger hunt to test their ability to locate and identify native plants and animals. Finally, teams perform an interpretive skit to demonstrate their ability to communicate information to an audience. Detailed information about this program can be found on the Kansas Eco-meet web page.
