The Gravel Chub resides in deep riffles over gravel bottoms in the Neosho and Spring Rivers. Their food source is unknown. They spawn in April at water temperatures around 60 degrees Fahrenheit, generally at a depth of 2-3 feet. Spawning sites are on gravel bars in swift current.
