Bluebirds arrive and begin housekeeping in Kansas in late February and early March, so boxes should be ready by that time. Houses should be 4- 6 feet above the ground. Check the boxes at least once a week from April through August to remove undesirable tenants, and detect problems. Although not necessary, the removal of old nests are desirable by some.
