The inaugural International Family Fishing Derby will be held this fall on September 11th, 2021 at Merritt Lake. The event is an opportunity for the International Military Students and their Families to take advantage of the resources offered n Fort Leavenworth and enjoy a day of fishing. There will be volunteers to assist so no experience necessary. The event is free and The Rod & Gun Club and Fishing's Future will provide the equipment and bait for all registered participants. Registration opens at 8:00 AM at Merritt Lake and there will be a presentation given by Fishing’s Future at 9:00. Fishing will go until 12:00 and will be followed by closing activities at 12:30.
