PROJECT: Black Bass Tournament Monitoring Program
OBJECTIVES:
1. Determine use by and demands for black bass by tournament anglers in Kansas impoundments.
2. Ensure management efforts including restrictive regulations are meeting both angler demands and fisheries needs so that an adequate fisheries is sustained.
3. Maintain a statewide database, which will provide needed information for statewide management and comprehensive planning.
Annual reports are a major part of our Black Bass Tournament Monitoring Program. The report is generated from information directly provided by bass clubs first conducting fishing tournaments and then submitting their catch results from the individual events. These events involve few to many individuals fishing a variety of waters from our larger reservoirs to our smaller public waters. The number of clubs that contribute to our monitoring program varies from year to year, but we always encourage as high of participation as possible. The more participating, the greater the value of the report.
