Why Fish Habitat?
Fish habitat projects can include a myriad of methods such as aquatic vegetation establishment, rock piles and reefs, shoreline armoring, artificial fish habitats, and tree and brush piles. Kansas anglers reap the rewards of these projects through increased fish production, fish recruitment, improved water quality, and increased catch rates. Non-anglers benefit through improved overall health of impoundments, balanced aquatic ecosystems, decreased erosion, improved aquatic vegetation communities, and increased aesthetics of public waters.
